'I've taken off the thick wheels, put on some thinner ones - so it doesn't pedal so heavy, it’s a bit faster and so on. As things are looking in the country now though, it looks like I'd need to put on some more rough tires in the future - you know the veldfiets tires. I needed to save some petrol, so that is why I got the bicycle. This town is ideal for cycling, you don't have to cycle very far. It is not very big like a big town - like Kimberley. Cycling is good for your health, like they say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. I also cycle a bit so that I can keep fit enough, so that when we have to cycle - come 10 May next year we won't have gasoline for our cars. So I'd need to put some carriers on my bicycle to carry some shopping. We'd have to cycle to Hopetown.'
